Pittsburgh Penguins Win Stanley Cup

Whats up y’all, welcome back to my sports and fitness blog. It has happened again, the Pittsburgh Penguins are Stanley Cup champions. After defeating the New York Rangers last year in Game 6, the Penguins have now defeated the Nashville Predators in Game 6 to become the first back to back Stanley Cup Champions since the Detroit Red Wings accomplished the feat in 1997-98. Patric Hornqvist was the one to score the go ahead goal braking the 0-0 tie on Sunday, and then Carl Hagelin clinched the game with an open net score the erupted the bench who knew they had won their second title in two years. The team ran all over the ice, showing us more and more dance moves as the celebration continued. This team may have only won the cup last year, but they dance like this if there first time and it rocks.

A Dynasty

The real celebrating happened when team Captain Sidney Crosby hoisted the cup for this third time, and then passed it onto teammate Ron Hainsey. With this season, Crosby is a member of an elusive club of back to back Conn Smythe trophies, which are given to the player considered the MVP of the playoffs. Crosby managed eight goals and 19 assists during this 24 games playoff run, and managed to beat out teammates Evgeni Malkin and Jake Guentzel. Goalie Matt Murray was also an integral part of the final run, having back to back shutouts to close the Stanley Cup series that gave his offence as many chances as possible. Of course, it was still a team effort bringing capturing the title, and as such the team had a joyous celebration together on the ice before no doubt continuing into the night.
