MAZ, a mutual collaborator with Social Security Nº 11, organized, together with the University of Zaragoza, the II Conference on ‘Delivery of Awards for Excellence in Scientific Research in Occupational Medicine from the MAZ Unizar Chair. An act that has been able to be followed through YouTube and which was attended by great medical professionals, as well as a conference on the prevention of suicidal behavior in the Civil Guard.
The Aula Magna of the Zaragoza Auditorium was the venue chosen to host the awards ceremony, which also coincided with the celebration of the MAZ Unizar Chair. For the general director of Mutua MAZ, Guillermo de Vílchez, this event represents “a consolidation of what the chair is doing in favor of training health personnelimpart knowledge related to occupational medicine and advocate for excellence in research in occupational medicine.”
The inauguration of the act was carried out by the vice-rector of Transfer and Technological Innovation, Gloria Cuenca; the Director General of Labor of the Government of Aragon, María Soledad de la Puente, and the Director of the MAZ Unizar Chair, Begoña Martínez. With this act, the Board recognizes that “the works made are worthy of being included in magazines and international repertoires since, in the field of medicine, publishing in journals is a measure”, assured Martínez. “All these people, who happen to be women, did a great job,” he continued.
Afterwards, the attendees could enjoy a conference on ‘Prevention of suicidal behavior in the Civil Guard’ by the head of the Psychology Office of the Command of Zaragoza, Ana Cristina Pinilla. Once finalized, the chair’s director, Dr. Andrés Alcázar Crevillén, presented the awarded works and, later, the award ceremony was held.
MAZ Unizar Chair Awards
The MAZ Unizar Chair seeks to improve health care and its rehabilitation and social benefits, always based on scientific evidence. It is with this premise that the two entities intend to reward and support research projects in this area that students develop within the scope of their final projects of degree, masters and doctoral thesis.
Throughout the day, participants were able to see the four award-winning works. In the Course Completion Project category, the works of recent medical graduates were awarded the PClassroom Alquézar, Rocío García and Dr. Maria Isabel Iguacel. The Best Doctoral Thesis award went to Dr. Marta Supervia. The four winners wanted to thank the support shown by the two entities, as well as the recognition and boost it represents for their careers.
The MAZ Chair also organizes continuing education for healthcare professionals and internships for studentsin addition to developing communication and support activities for family doctors to promote the training, interest and prestige of this group in everything related to health at work, mutual societies and occupational medicine.
